Branding Tator Tot Breakfast Casserole
Ingredients:
1 pound of your favorite breakfast sausage
1-2 cups of shredded cheese (I prefer a Mexican-Style blend)
1 3/4 cup milk
3 eggs
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon Johnny’s Seasoning Salt or your favorite all purpose salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 pounds frozen tator tots
Bacon (optional)
How to make it:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Fry one pound of your favorite breakfast sausage in a skillet. Pour the cooked sausage, including the grease, into a 9×13 baking dish. Top with at least a half cup of shredded cheese, your preference. In a bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, onion powder, seasoning salt, and pepper. Pour over the sausage and cheese. Top the mixture with 2 pounds of frozen tator tots. Add another layer of cheese. Add chopped, cooked bacon to the top as a garnish. Bake uncovered for 45-60 minutes, until hot and bubbly. Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
